The Junior Jay Varsity beat Ames Lacrosse 15-0 Saturday morning in a game played at Ames Middle School. Prep’s 33 shots tallied 15 goals.
Prep scorers were lead by RJ Moffatt (4 goals and 2 assists) Jack Mausbach (3 goals and 1 assists) Mark Mausbach (2 goals and 3 assists) and Paul Gordon (2 goals and 1 assists). Other players adding goals were Bob Lawton, Tyler Varney, Leo Dunlap and Max King. Ethan Yale added an assist to finish out the scoring. The Junior Jay Defense was led by Leo Dunlap (8 ground balls) Matt Buckley (6 ground balls) Paul Gordon (5 ground balls) Peter Wessling (3 ground balls) Nate Hauser (3 ground balls). Junior Jay Goalie Jack Abt recorded 3 saves.
The Junior Jays Paul Gordon opened the scoring and never looked back. At the end of the first quarter, the Jays led 5-0 and at the half, the Jays led 11-0. The starters opened up the second half to help extend the lead to 14-0 at the end of the third quarter. Max King netted the 15th goal for the Junior Jay at the start of the 4th quarter and the Jays went deep into the bench to help finish out the game.
The win improved the Junior Jays to 3-0 for the season. Next up for the Jays is Ankeny Lacrosse about two hours later on Saturday April 7th.

The Junior Jays opened the scoring with a goal by RJ Moffatt and took a 6-0 lead through the end of the first quarter. The Jays closed the first half by scoring 5 goals in under 4 minutes to take a 13-2 lead into half time. The third quarter was notable was sophomore Mac Nelson completed his first (of many to come) hat tricks for the varsity team and help the Jays take a 17-5 lead into the break. The fourth quarter had Cameron Kozol and Jack Mausbach scoring to finish the game out at 19-6.
The win improves the Junior Jays to 4-0 for the season. Next up for the Jays is Burke on Thursday April 19th at 8:00pm. The game is at Burke Stadium.
The Junior Jay White JV beat Ankeny JV 7-5 in Ankeny IA to finish off the day for the Junior Jays.
The Junior Jays were led by Nate Meier (2 goals) Ethan Yale (1 goal and 1 assist). Goals were scored by Trey Dethlefs, Max King, Jay Gregor and Mac Nelson. Assists were from John Kubat and Mike Walsh. The Junior Jays Defense was lead by Mac Nelson (14 ground balls) Ethan Owens (4 ground balls) Will Fuglsang (2 ground balls) Corey Callahan (2 ground balls) JJ Boulay (2 ground balls). Michael Spitzenberger dominated the face offs winning 10 of the 11 faceoffs. Junior Jay Goalie Javier Macias is credited with 11 saves in the win.
